The Louisiana Nursing Home Association (LNHA) invites social service directors in the long-term care profession to attend the Social Service Designee Workshop on October 6-8, 2026, at the Paragon Casino Resort in Marksville, LA. This three-day workshop is a structured educational curriculum that fully orients, educates and certifies those who wish to work in Louisiana nursing facilities as a social service designee / director. The workshop will be presented by Jeff DeMars, CSW-AC, LNFA and Kelley Jolivette-Thomas, BS, CSSD, LNFA. The deadline to register is September 30.

Certification Information

• Social Workers: This continuing education activity has been approved by the Louisiana Certification Registry for Healthcare Ancillary Professionals, Inc. for 25 contact hours, and an application has been submitted to the NASW-La Chapter for 25 General Education Hours for credentialed social workers.
  
  
• Nursing facility administrators, this program has been approved by the Louisiana Board of Examiners of Nursing Facility Administrators for 18 hours of continuing education credits.
